The Halifax Lions roared out of the gate in Saturday's Showcase game vs the Nauss Tim-Br Mart Lumberjacks and lead 1-0 after one period. The Lions outshot the Jacks 21-11 in that period. The dressing room "talk" resulted in a different Lumberjacks team in the second as they jumped out to a 7-1 shots on goal advantage and kept the pressure on until Mickey MacDonald scored, on the powerplay. Both Kody Blois (Halifax) and Travis Hall (Lumberjacks) were solid in their respective nets and the game went to overtime. For Lumberjacks fans there was an uneasy feeling as overtime has been unkind to them so far in the season. But it was joy in Jacks land as defenceman Tony Pisano scored on a shot from  the point 1:09 into the five minute overtime frame to earn the win. Travis Hall was named star number 2 and Pisano was rewarded for his overtime winner by being named star number 1. The Lumberjacks return home to prepare for a tough weekend upcoming when they play three games on the road in three days. They begin Thursday night in Dieppe, move to Woodstock for a Friday night tilt and close it off with a Saturday game in Truro.
