Jacks struggle to bury chances against Marauders

The Metro Mauraders were in town on a night that saw Bridgewater get it's first taste of what winter is all about. The Mauraders had arrived early and were hoping that the night would keep the Jacks fans home bundling up by the fire. The Jacks were looking to continue to build on the performances they had put together against the top two teams of Woodstock and Amherst with a better result.

The Mauraders who had put it to the Woodstock Slammers in a rare loss for Woodstack jumped on the board with just over seven minutes to go in the first but it was Clarke in nets who was holding the Jacks in it. Then the Jacks let the Mauraders gain the advantage of the powerplay and to the Mauraders credit they had it working in the Sawmill tonight burying one to go up two. Coffin on a nicely executed 2 on 1 kept the Jacks close as the first ended .

The second period the Jacks played better but with more penalties came more powerplays and the Jacks would give up to more goals putting them in tough heading into the third frame.

In the third, the Jacks missed more quality scoring chances and it would seem Friday the 13th would come early for the Jacks. The Mauraders would add another goal late but the powerplay was the difference on a cold night at the Sawmill.

Make the final Mauraders 5 - Jacks 1
