BRAD DONALDSON SCORES TWICE IN LUMBERJACKS WIN
Over 350 fans left the Bridgewater Memorial Arena happy Friday night after their hometown CIBC Wood Gundy Lumberjacks defeated the Yarmouth Mariners 3-2. The Lumberjacks jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two periods on Donaldson's two goals and a single by Brennan Saulnier. The Mariners did not roll over and staged a spirited third period rally but feel short by a goal. Fans were treated to a spirited affair and the Lumberjacks showed lots of promise for the upcoming season. The home side dressed only three returning players as Head Coach/GM Jim Bottomley and his staff sat in the crowd and evaluated his new players. Joey Hines, Billy Clarke & Travis Hall each played a period in nets for the Lumberjacks. The Lumberjacks outshot the Mariners 34 - 23. The Lumberjacks will get their final evaluation and chance to impress the coaching staff on Sunday evening when they welome the Metro Marauders to town. Game time is 7:00 pm.
