LUMBERJACKS DOUBLE MARINERS 6-3 IN FIRST EXHIBITION GAME

The CIBC Wood Gundy Lumberjacks opened their exhibition season with a 6-3 win over the Yarmouth Mariners. The Lumberjacks exploded with five second period goals, three of them by Jake Bullen. Brad Donaldson scored twice and Sam Labenski added a single. Coach Jim Bottomley was pleased with the effort from his squad, a mixture of veterans and rookies.  Alex Mader and Philip Wright were solid between the pipes for the Lumberjacks. The two teams tangle again Friday night at 7:00 PM. The game will be played at the Bridgewater Memorial Arena.
