Lumberjacks win on the road, take series lead and home ice advantage

The Nauss Tim-Br Mart Lumberjacks continued the momentum tonight in Truro, with a big win against the Bearcats (5-2) and have taken the lead in the Bent Division Semi-Final Series #1.

After a great performance last night in home ice to tie the series, the Lumberjacks took an early lead on the road with Mickey MacDonald(1G 1A) early in the first period and they never looked back. Matt Snow(2G) extended the lead half way in the first period to 2-0.

Doudelet got the 3rd goal for the Lumberjacks (unassisted), that ended up being the game winning goal early in the 2nd frame. Twenty-four seconds later, Shawn Frank (game's first star, 1G 1A) added his name to the score sheet, increasing the lead to 4-0 for the Lumberjacks. The Bearcats goalie, Gagnon was replaced in net by Rafuse after going 10/14.  The Lumberjacks went into the dressing rooms for the second intermission with a comfortable 4-0 lead.

Truro scored two quick goals in the 3rd period thwerty-eight seconds apart with Ivako and Burns and the 4-2 lead for the Lumberjacks was maintained until the last minute of the period when Matt Snow scored an empty netter to make the final 5-2.

Philip Wright stood strong between the pipes for the Lumberjacks again, turning away 40 of the 42 shots he faced and he was named the game's second star. Jordan Burke recorded two helpers, and Mike Snow one. The Lumberjacks went 0/2 on the powerplay while the Bearcats 0/4.
