Lumberjacks disciplined and focused, impress and tie the series
The Nauss Tim-BR Mart Lumberjacks have tied the series against the Truro Bearcats after a 3-1 win at the Bridgewater Memorial Arena.
The Lumberjacks stayed disciplined allowing Truro only 3 powerplay opportunities and the Bearcats were not able to capitalize on any of them. Methodically, the Lumberjacks took the lead towards the end of the first period (Mike Snow, PP) and continued to press during the second frame. Their effort was rewarded with a second goal by Shawn Frank (who was named the game's first star, 1G 2A). Mike Snow again gave the Lumberjacks a comfortable 3-0 lead early in the 3rd period and he was named the game's second star.
Philip Wright kept the Lumberjacks net pristine for over 57 minutes, turning away 29 of the 30 shots he faced and he earned the third star of the game. It was a great team effort by all the Lumberjacks and the 570 fans that gathered enjoyed a great hockey game.
The series continues tomorrow, Wed. March 10th at 7:30pm in Truro.
