PICTOU COUNTY DROPS LUMBERJACKS 6-1

The second place Pictou County Weeks Crushers solidified their hold ahead of the Nauss Tim-Br Mart Lumberjacks with a solid 6-1 win over the third place Lumberjacks. After Jake Lewis scored to bring the home side within one the Crushers responded with four unanswered goals to skate to the win. The Crushers fired 57 shots at Lumberjacks netminder Philip Wright. The Crushers kept up an agressive forechecking game and broke open a close game with two goals in the last half of the second period. The Lumberjacks are still missing Matt Snow (concussion), Matt Fitzgibbons (knee) & Shawn Frank. The next action for the Lumberjacks wiull be this Friday when they host the Yarmouth Mariners. Game time is 7:00 PM at the Bridgewater Memorial Arena.
