Lumberjacks get 2 points in Yarmouth

 The Lumberjacks played their second game in as many nights in Yarmouth against the Mariners and they were able to get the much needed two points with a 6-5 win in a "special-teams game".

Lumberjacks found themselves trailing in the first after Desveaux opened the score for Yarmouth on the powerplay. Matt Snow (who was the 3rd star of the game with 2 goals and 1 assist) responded on the powerplay to tie the game and two minutes later he gave 'Jacks the 2-1 lead. Philip Wright in net went 22/23 in the first period.

Mariners tied the game in the 2nd period, again on the powerplay with Coombs and Jake Lewis (1 goal, 2 assists) gave Bridgewater the lead again (3-2). Mike Snow extended the lead for Bridgewater to 4-2 with another powerplay goal. Desveaux recorded his second goal for the night, this time shorthanded and cut the lead to 4-3. 

Innes deadlocked the game 4-4 with a powerplay goal in the 3rd period. Tony Pisano responded with a powerplay goal and gave the lead 5-4 to the Lumberjacks while Jordan Burke made the score 6-4 with an empty net goal. With just seconds on the clock the Marines scored on the powerplay (Hayes) to make it the final 6-5.

Tony Pisano was the first star of the game. The Lumberjacks went 3/5 on the powerplay while the Mariners were 4/7.

Action continues Sun., Jan. 17th for the Lumberjacks who are playing their 3rd game in as many days. The Slammers are visiting the Bridgewater Memorial Arena at 3pm. Kids get a free Lumberjacks poster (while supplies last).
